Asheville is hippie capital USA. Lots more homeless than you'd imagine too.
Never spent more than an hour or two in Asheville before this weekend. I thought Boone was full of hippies...until this weekend.
Visit Asheville if you want to see why we need to keep groups like the Clinch Coalition from growing.
On another note, a wedding at the Biltmore is no nicer than one at your local church.

"There he goes, one of Gods own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die"
Saw Kiss in Ashville back in '90. Probably wasn't there long enough to mingle with the hippie locals...just the drunk headbangers.

Alot's changed since 90 thing. I've always gone for metal type shows, and there are hippies everywhere.

I love Asheville...but I don't love driving through it.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
I don't mind it either, I go about 10-15 times a year and have never had a bad experience or anything that would make me dislike the place. I agree with beast, driving sucks but other than that, not bad at all.

I have no problem with the town either. I actually like it alot. There are lots of things for 20 somethings to do, good places to eat, some historic stuff. It does have the highest congregation of hippies I've ever seen though.

What's wrong with hippies?

Theres a college over that way that his hippie haven. Warren Wilson or something like that.
There used to be a really good mexican place on the outskirts of Asheville that I hear isn't around anymore. Poncho's. Served a tortilla bowl of shrimp, black olives, and some type of cheese sauce. Man that was good.

The majority of them stink of patchouli oil, seem to be lazy, and nasty. I have nothing against them personally, it's just an observation that there are several that live in Asheville.
